The fit is everything, when it comes to bicycles.
Especially for road bikes where the slightest inefficiency
is a glaring handicap.
A properly designed woman’s bike accounts for the
typical woman’s proportionately longer legs and shorter
torso, with frame tubing tuned for lighter-weight physiques
(think SST!). That means the overall cockpit length needs
to be shorter than the typical man’s bike, while keeping
an eye on pedal/wheel clearance.
So we’ve shortened top tubes and stems, decreased
head angles and increased fork rakes, and even added a new
XS 44cm frame size. It also takes size-specific components
like narrower handlebars, shorter reach brake levers and
wider saddles to ensure that the ride is efficient and comfortable.
