Jamis Mountain bikes
The story behind Jamis Mountain bikes is one of passion,
commitment, inspiration and perfection. In short it's a story
of great men and women dedicated to build a perfect bicycle.
In fact, what is Today a national powerhouse distributing
globally, started out in 1937 as a humble local distributor
of imported European bicycles and their parts. Today, GJC
is one of the largest and oldest bicycle companies.
GJC acquired Jamis mountain bikes in the year 1990 and since
then it has been improving. Notably, the then bunch delivered
in Dakar in early 1990's for racing. This were no gimmicks,
no compromise and no nonsense designs that were custom built
and ready to race
Building the perfect bike
Building the perfect bike is an impossible goal, but it's
the only one that's worthwhile. In fact , we've been at it
most of our lives. CEO and President Carine Joannou has been
successfully leading and directing G. Joannou Cycle, our
parent company, since taking over from her father in 1981.
What began as a modest regional distributor of imported
European bicycles and parts in 1937 has grown into a national
powerhouse with international distributors throughout the
world. GJC is now one of the oldest, largest bicycle companies
under original ownership in America.

Greg Webber, Vice President of Product Development has been
with Jamis since the first Earth Cruiser rolled out in 1979
and eagerly joined Carine's winning team when GJC acquired
Jamis in 1990. Their commitment, passion and leadership inspires
the rest of us bike addicts at Jamis to not settle for "good
enough". The whole team aims for nothing short of perfection
all day, every day.
All-round Mountain Bike
Mountain bikes come with front suspension or dual suspension
and offer efficient pedalling, light weight, 27 speed wide
range gearing and the choice of powerful direct pull or disc
brakes. They make the ideal choice for those wanting an all-round
MTB with reasonable suspension travel and good acceleration/handling.
Jamis manufacture carbon/alloy frames and the best Shimano components.
Suspension features such as lock out, adjustable rebound
and preload may cost a little more but will improve the quality
of your ride significantly if you use the bike on and off-road.
Starting price
Our bikes start from as little as $329.00 and most feature
front suspension and lightweight alloy frames. You also get
quality 21-27 speed gears and alloy wheels with quick release
hubs. Some bikes feature disc brakes for super stopping power
wet or dry. This category often has a similar bike in mens
and womens styles, with womens frames featuring low top tubes
for easier control.
Good things always last and so will good history in the
making. With Jamis mountain bikes, it's not yet done and
actually the history is still in the making. With the newly
redesigned carbon fiber Xenith series, things couldn't be
any better. They are a major hit and in fact many professional
racers are already proclaiming it's the best for racing.
The frame is designed with stiffness, comfort and light weight
well balanced.
